Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Sciences, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge in the theory and practice of public health which includes epidemiology, research, health promotion, determinants of health, community development and health beliefs and practices of various cultures. Understanding of behaviour change management principles and dynamics. Experience assessing community/organizational needs. Experience completing environmental scans. Proven skills in a group presentation, facilitation and team building; able to apply principles of adult education. Experience developing and managing health promotion projects and documenting progress on goals and strategies. Experience interpreting health-related data and identifying population health trends. Experience creating Knowledge Translation resources related to health promotion messaging for public understanding such as presentation and resource development. Experience working with new Canadian and immigrant populations, Indigenous communities, low-income families, young families or other vulnerable populations. Other skill requirements: Ability to work independently and be self-directed. Very strong computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of three years working in public health/health promotion in a community health setting. A graduate degree in public health or health promotion is preferred. Experience working in partnership with community groups and agencies. Experience in program & project evaluation. Experience in applying change management techniques. Exceptionally strong interpersonal &writing skills. The ability to adapt to a changing environment will be required. Building a collaborative work environment.
