Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of an approved school for Health Information Management professionals required. Certification by the Canadian College of Health Record Administrators required (or eligibility). Formal SQL query training and experience or demonstrated equivalent required. Formal training and successful completion of the ICD-10-CA/CCI coding classification. Minimum of 3 years coding or data analysis in healthcare or related experience including sound knowledge of ICD-10-CA/CCI, medical terminology and disease processes, coding and data analysis. Experience with data processing tools such as SQL Developer. Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Office suite of software is beneficial. Strong analytical, statistical, and problem solving skills. Tableau or other visualization software knowledge and skills are required. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet established deadlines. Attention to detail, accuracy, initiative, problem solving and organizational skills. Knowledge of provincial and national reporting data sets, clinical data, ADT. Work well independently and in a team environment. Demonstrates professionalism and good interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Connect Care data and EPIC training is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:The Team is at times required to deliver reports within tight timelines. An ability to cope well under pressure along with a willingness to support team members is required. The Employee shall maintain confidentiality of all health information in accordance with AHS polices.
