Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience working in an HIM release of information department within a complex health care environment. Proficiency in keyboarding is required demonstrating a minimum speed of 45 words per minute (testing required). Knowledge of Health Information Act demonstrated by achieving a score of 80% or higher on a proficiency assessment. . Fundamental understanding of health information privacy, access, and disclosure practices ensures your success in this role. Candidates must demonstrate strong English language skills in reading, writing, comprehension, and oral communication. Proficiency with Connect Care’s Release of Information (ROI) module is required. You are comfortable navigating electronic medical records and clinical systems. You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:We’re seeking a candidate with strong eHealth literacy, secure handling of health information, and experience navigating and interpreting provincial and federal legislation. Must be organized, analytical, self-motivated, and skilled in decision-making and time management.
