Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree required. Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience or a strong working knowledge and intimate understanding of healthcare delivery. Working knowledge of the Alberta Health Services and the Clinical Informatics function is required. Customer facing experience bridging business, IT, clinical, and clinical support services, across the breadth and depth of a large healthcare organization.


Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the ideal candidate should possess the following: Proven strong organization skills, excellent communication and interview skills, excellent interpersonal and team building skills. Ability to learn and use electronic clinical information systems. Ability to think systematically and critically, create value or business cases, informs and develops strategy, and engages others in same. Experience in process improvement. Experience in planning, communication, facilitation, coordination of multiple projects/operational work packages. Experience mentoring and supporting junior staff. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Self-motivated with little supervision. Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting, computer work. This role draws upon theory and practice from many disciplines; understanding of the following is required: Adult Education Delivery. Process Improvement and Change Management. Clinical Informatics. Safety and Quality. Analytics and Evaluation.


Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical background preferred. Experience delivering training is an asset. Adult Education Experience or Training. 5+ years healthcare experience. 3+ years in health informatics or relevant experience. CPHIMS/CPHIMS-CA certification. Experience in the provision of healthcare is preferred.
