Required Qualifications:

Graduate from a Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) recognized program for Health Information Management Professionals required. Registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) is required.

Additional Qualifications:

- Thorough knowledge of current Canadian Coding Standards and DAD/NACRS for collection of diagnoses, interventions, and specified data elements required. A coding test may be administered during the interview process. - Proven ability to organize and complete varying workload to meet Alberta Health Services deadlines while ensuring data integrity. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. - Preferably a minimum of one year of recent experience with ICD-10-CA/CCI coding classification and abstracting software - preferably Meditech. - Familiarity with 3M Encoder and Grouper. - Must have good organizational, analytical, and technical skills in order to meet the demands of coding and meeting the deadlines set by Alberta Health Services, Alberta Health and CIHI. - Familiarity with Provincial Acts including, but not limited to the Hospital Act, Health Information Act, and Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIP). Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of 35 wpm typing speed will be an asset.
