Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:The candidate must have Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) from Heart and Stroke Foundation within the last 12 months. In addition, the candidate must be effective in verbal and written English, have well developed time management skills, demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/clients, families, visitors and team members. This candidate must demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a team (including requesting and accepting direction as required). You will be required to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. For example: lifting of approximately 30 pounds in and out of a vehicle on a regular basis and carrying this weight up and down stairs throughout the day is common within this job. Learning resources and training are provided to safely perform work. This role requires flexibility, adaptability and rural/remote travel; possession of a valid drivers’ license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:The ideal candidate will be enrolled with the HCA Directory, have a Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance and have experience in the health care field working with vulnerable populations across the life span in a community base setting.
