Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be a graduate from an educational program using the Provincial Curriculum for Health Care Aides or have met the criteria outlined in the Substantially Equivalent Competency Guidelines. Active registration with CLHA. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective communication in verbal and written English is required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/clients, families, visitors and team members. Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance is preferred. Previous experience in the health care field and work with older or chronically ill individuals is preferred. Well-developed time management skills. May be required to work a variety of shifts and shift patterns in Didsbury. Note: This position requires a vehicle for business use.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Community/Home care experience Medication Assistance experience Able to work independently in a community setting. Good handle on I-phone technology and computer/email skills.
