Required Qualifications:

- As a condition of employment at AHS, you must be enrolled in the Government of Alberta-Health Care Aide Directory and provide evidence of your enrollment at time of hire and annually thereafter. For more information on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory, please visit: www.albertahcadirectory.com. - In addition, you must meet one of the following Alberta Health Services (AHS) Health Care Aide (HCA) competency requirement and provide evidence at time of hire: a) Certified - certified as a Health Care Aide through a Government of Alberta licensed post-secondary institution using the Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum; or b) Substantially Equivalent - an educational background deemed equivalent as compared to the approved Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum; or c) Deemed Competent - assessed as competent by an Alberta regulated nurse, using the Provincial Competency Assessment Profile Tool.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel. This position requires a vehicle for business use. Familiarity with computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Lync/Skype for Business. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation. Excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability to the home care program.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 3 years of recent (within the last 5 years) experience in health care field with preference given to care for older or chronically ill clients in the community setting. Medication Assistance Certification or experience providing medication assistance. Flexible in scheduling work activities. Experience working with mechanical lifts and safe transfer methods. Great communication.
