The amazing Home Care team in Bonnyville has an opening for a Health Care Aide (HCA). This role is critical to Home Care as you provide care and build relationships with your clients. Your critical thinking skills will be utilized as you are the person that will need to notice changes in your clients and if additional care is required. You will work to the full capacity of an HCA and grow your skills as you work independently and become an advocate for the client. You are a compassionate and empathetic individual as you work in this interesting, challenging, and continually changing field, with some complex patients who require your support. The Health Care Aide functions as a member of the team providing healthcare services for clients and family members in their home environment. Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). As this is a Home Care role you will need to have a valid Class 5 non-GDL Driver’s License. Effective February 02, 2026 all persons practicing as a Health Care Aide must hold registration with the College of LPN’s and HCA’s of Alberta (CLHA).

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Medication Assistance Program (MAP).
