Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to rapidly read patient identifiers and make quick decisions about patient placement as part of the patient admission process. You must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. You will be required to lift, bend and push and variety of weights while maintaining safe body mechanics stipulated by AHS It’s Your Move patient handling program. Current BCLS-HCP certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent work experience in a short-stay surgical setting. Preference will be given to individuals who have successfully demonstrated an ability to independently initiate and perform tasks with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be able to problem-solve, demonstrate flexible thinking and devise creative solutions that support operational efficiency. You must be proficient with basic computer skills.
