As a WHS Advisor, you will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate occupational health and safety programs and processes. You will provide subject matter expertise, and provide best practice recommendations, guidance, and resources that support organizational and legislative requirements. In this role, you will contribute to educational tools and resources, support on-site safety programs, inspections, and practices, and support a culture of safety through risk assessment, identification and management, reporting and correction to ensure a safe environment for employees, physicians, volunteers, patients, and families. Description:

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate occupational health and safety programs and processes within your assigned portfolio. You will collaborate with workers, leaders, departments, sites, programs, and partners to interpret complex and time sensitive needs, assess requirements, and identify effective, innovative solutions. In this role, you will apply subject matter expertise, leadership, and project and change management skills to provide best practice recommendations, guidance, and resources that support organizational and legislative requirements. You will also contribute to the coordination and delivery of educational tools and resources as well as perform on site duties including respirator fit testing, supporting inspections, incident investigations, and participation in Joint Workplace Health and Safety Committees.

Required Qualifications:

Degree, diploma, or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, legislation, and best practices. Experience working in occupational health and safety within a healthcare setting and/or a large, complex, unionized environment. Experience in ergonomic assessments, conducting fit-testing, supporting Joint Workplace Health & Safety Committees, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Experience conducting or supporting occupational exposure and hygiene assessments related to chemical, physical, or biological hazards. Ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data. Strong verbal and written verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams as well as internal and external partners. Experience preparing, reviewing, or contributing to technical or occupational hygiene reports, including clear documentation of methods, results, and recommendations. Experience in conducting training and facilitating workshops.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a large healthcare or government organization, particularly of significant size, diversity, and complexity.
