Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Physically capable to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and must be able to push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs. This position requires you to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience in a food service environment, commercial or household kitchen (other combinations of experience may be considered) within the last 3 years. Experience with food inventory management - managing expiration dates, applying FIFO principles, minimizing waste, restocking grocery/kitchen items (small ware, cleaning supplies, other). Familiarity and comfort in a kitchen environment preparing food ingredients, following recipes and utilizing small and large household or commercial appliances (i.e. dishwasher, oven, stove top, microwave). Skill and ability to keep work environments tidy, organized, clean and sanitized as appropriate. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English in person, by phone and on email. Ability to follow direction from supervisors and manager, and also contribute as a part of a team. Ability to follow established processes, but demonstrate flexibility as required. Beginner level experience using the following: Outlook (email), Word, and internet search.
Preferred Qualifications:Grade 12 High School Diploma or above. Food Safe Certification. Completion of WHMIS Training.
