Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable professional association or college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Master of Social Work or Registered Psychologist with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Active or eligible for registration with Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) or College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Minimum 2 years’ experience providing assessment, treatment, and discharge to a child population (age 11 years and younger) with mental health and addiction concerns within the last 5 years. Training and experience in individual, group, and family therapy modalities. Training and experience in therapeutic modalities such as: Sand Tray and/or Play Therapy. Theoretical knowledge or experience with Trauma Informed Care, Attachment, and Family Systems. Competency in using the DSM V with provisional diagnosis. Advanced crisis management skills including but not limited to Suicide Risk assessments, intervention and treatment, de-escalation skills and the ability to triage the client’s wellness and utilize the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the client.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with complex child/adolescents and families with multiple barriers to wellness. Experience using performance metrics (i.e., feedback informed treatment). Training and experience in therapeutic modalities such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and/or other evidence-based modalities. Understanding of Concurrent Capable Practices. Experience providing supervision to practicum students.
