Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable professional association or college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Master of Social Work or Master of Psychology with authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions; or a Master of Nursing with specialization in mental health. Completion of a Master degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. Full registration with Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW), College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), or College and Association of Registered Nurses/Registered Psychiatric Nurses (CARNA/CRPNA). Minimum 3 years’ experience providing assessment and treatment to adults with concurrent disorders in a community mental health setting within the last 5 years. Training and experience in individual therapy modalities. Competency in using the DSM V diagnoses with provisional diagnosis. Theoretical knowledge or experience with Trauma Informed Care and attachment based perspectives. Experience completing suicide risk assessments, intervention and treatment, de-escalation skills. Travel throughout south central Alberta is required. You will demonstrate a commitment to collaborative practice; respect for diversity using a supportive, non-judgmental approach; communication skills and the ability to work in a flexible interdisciplinary setting; conflict resolution, problem solving, critical thinking and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years’ experience in an acute mental health inpatient setting. Minimum 1 year experience in a forensic mental health setting. Experience working with an offender population in particular with Domestic and Sexual violence offenders. Training and experience in group, couple, and family therapy. Training and experience in therapeutic modalities: TF-CBT, CBT, DBT and/or other evidence-based modalities. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within the last 2 years.
