Undergraduate degree in a health sciences field or related area. Seven years of progressive, diverse healthcare leadership experience in a health care organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience in resource management including planning and budgetary accountability. Excellent communication skills – both written & verbal. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change in areas without operational control over a large organization, preferable on a provincial scale. Experience in initiating and fostering positive relationships and productive partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrates ability to support and lead population and public health initiatives- either as individual SCNs or a cross-cutting initiative of all Demonstrates ability to develop evidence and best practice based care models and pathways for dissemination and implementation in AHS Able to develop and publish performance measures across quality dimensions Prioritize outcomes and interventions for improvement by zone and across the continuum of care Experience in engaging clinical experts, users, patients and members of the public to design service models and implementation strategies to achieve goals.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Able to implement, evaluate and optimize innovative service delivery models with Zones. Demonstrate ability to develop outcome improvement agreements with zones including the commitment of resources on key new interventions, as well as facilitate change management as required. Able to effectively identify system-wide organization supports requirements and negotiates for and functionally directs these requirements (e.g. support team members, project managers, technical experts, knowledge experts) to assist the MNCY SCN in achieving its goals and priorities. Ability to identify risk potential of projects and initiatives throughout the breadth and depth of AHS and bring these to attention of SCN. Ability to put forward effective mitigation strategies for such risks. Proven abilities in complex problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, and negotiation. Recognized as a leader with successful experience in strategic human resource management and development. Considerable skill is needed to balance diverse and, occasionally conflicting, stakeholder interests.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in health care management, business administration or related field. Significant experience in leading and supervising staff within a health care environment. Clear understanding of AHS and Alberta Health goals to incorporate these into all planning and documentation. Experience in Project Management systems and approaches. Demonstrated change leadership, change management ability. Experince in establishing and working in public, private and third sector collaborations.
