Executive Director
Your Opportunity:
The Executive Director works in close partnership with the medical leadership partners and various key stakeholders as part of the operational leadership team in the portfolio of the Senior Operating Officer (SOO) for Stollery Children’s Hospital. The Executive Director is accountable for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs and services in support of the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The Executive Director will provide the leadership required to align and implement strategic planning, to deliver and evaluate quality, accessibility, sustainability, patient family centered care and integrated health systems for Stollery Critical Care and Pediatric and Neonatal Transport Services.
Description:
Provides strategic and operational oversight of Stollery Critical Care, Pediatric and Neonatal Transport Services, specialized programs including ECMO/ECLS. Leads business cases, service delivery models, strategic and operational planning, policy development, and patient- and family-centred care. Provides leadership, coaching and development to diverse teams in a unionized environment, fosters collaboration and inclusion, and supports innovation and continuous improvement. Oversee financial, human, capital and equipment resources, balancing priorities and linking resource decisions to program goals, quality and safety. Leads development, implementation and evaluation of short- and long-term program/site plans and performance measures. Provides strategic leadership for capital and site redevelopment, service redistribution and workspace development, and contributes to corridor and provincial strategies. Monitors external trends, risks and opportunities; develops mitigation and contingency plans; and promotes quality improvement, workplace safety, risk management and regulatory compliance. Works in partnership with medical leadership to advance accessible, high-quality, sustainable patient- and family-centred care. Collaborates with internal and external partners to influence service delivery and provides guidance to embedded corporate and non-clinical services. Leads site contingency planning for pandemics, emergencies and labour disruptions; supports provincial and national preparedness as required. Provides leadership for site command centre activation, incident response, recovery, debriefing and corrective actions. Oversees workplace health and safety, Infection Prevention and Control, safety reviews and risk monitoring. Participates in acute care on-call rotations and coordinates major incident response across the Edmonton Corridor.

A Baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. A minimum 5 years of working experience in a health discipline within a tertiary care environment, coupled with a minimum of 5 years management experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. Must demonstrate an understanding and experience with the delivery of patient and family centered care.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Connect Care & MS Office Suite. Effective communication, strong organization skills. Demonstrated ability & comfort with decision making, coaching/teaching, and the ability to inspire & build confidence in others.
