Your Opportunity:

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team supporting clinical operations in advancing provincial acute care capacity and demand strategies. The Executive Director, Provincial Acute Care Capacity & Demand position plays a key leadership role in supporting system-wide capacity coordination and is an integral member of the Clinical Operations leadership team. The successful candidate will lead and support complex, high-impact initiatives that require strategic oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and senior-level influence. This role involves working closely with corridor and provincial leaders, shared services (e.g., Data & Analytics, Digital Health), and other key stakeholders including other Health Service Delivery Organizations and Acute Care Alberta to ensure capacity management efforts are integrated, evidence-informed, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a graduate degree in health care management, business administration or a related health care field. The incumbent will demonstrate a clear pattern of professional and personal development. This position is required to have a high level of responsiveness with the ability to pivot on priorities as required to support executive-level collaboration and responsiveness. Position location is negotiable but required to be on-site and located in Alberta.


Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive senior leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including five years’ experience in a senior management role in clinical services or healthcare operations Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with internal and external partners Successful record of achievement as a leader, including experience in senior leadership of a large and diverse range of functions Utilizes strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing long term quality services Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization.
