Your Opportunity:

Cancer Care Alberta is seeking an enthusiastic, independent, and attentive professional with exceptional communication skills to provide executive support to the Cancer Care Alberta Executive Office. The Executive Associate is responsible the senior administrative management support to the Cancer Care Alberta Executive Office. The Executive Associate manages and coordinates issues and leads administrative activities affecting the business of the Office of the Chief Program Officer and Senior Medical Officer and organization. This position will build consistency and continuity within the program, between portfolios and organizationally, while providing background and strategic advice to the Program Executive Dyad on issues related to administrative management, policies and organizational matters. The Executive Associate will provide services in office management, issues management, strategic planning, program support, committee support, project management, stakeholder and community liaison and executive support services to build the strength and effectiveness of the Cancer Care Leadership Dyad and portfolio.

Description:

Responsible for providing advice, counsel, options, recommendation and perspectives to Cancer Care Executive leaders on office, portfolio or Alberta Health Services (AHS) matters, projects or issues. The Executive Associate position is responsible for the administration, coordination and management of the Executive Office, including portfolio policy, programs and processes. The position is responsible for the effective administration, coordination and management of information and issues for the Office of the Chief Program Officer and Senior Medical Director. These issues may deal with CCA, Alberta Health Services, external partnerships, client or community matters. The Executive Associate position is responsible for the administration, coordination and management of the CCA Executive Office building office supports, systems and processes directly and through other positions that will ensure the continuing effectiveness of the Executive Office. This position plays a key role in ensuring effective communications within the program, organization and with outside bodies. The Executive Associate assumes the role as Executive liaison within the portfolio, and is the primary point of contact for issue management and action items with Alberta Health and the office of the VP, Cancer Care Alberta and Clinical Support Services, ensuring appropriate and timely information flow. Responsible for the administration, coordination and management of the Cancer Care Executive Office. The position will build office supports, systems and processes, directly and indirectly, that will ensure the continuing effectiveness of the Executive Office administrative support functions. The position will provide strategic and administrative advice and services to various CCA committees.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a degree or diploma in health services administration, business administration or related area. Five to seven years related experience in the field, ideally in a healthcare setting.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Ability to gain extensive knowledge of AHS strategic direction, operating requirements, as well as the policies and procedures. Knowledge of political sensitivities and the diverse interests of numerous stakeholders. Proven ability to work within a team as a contributing member. Proven ability to work collaboratively with other team members from other areas of expertise, and with the most senior management within the organization. Ability to handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications:

Additional training or experience in project management and change management would be an asset.
