Required Qualifications:

A graduate degree in Bioethics, Philosophy or Applied Ethics conferred before the start of the fellowship. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Applicants are asked to submit the following: 1. Curriculum vitae. 2. A cover letter (maximum two pages) describing the following: Why your employment and academic background makes you an ideal fellowship candidate. Relevant character traits that make you well suited for clinical ethics. Your goals post-fellowship. Areas of clinical practice and research that are of interest to you. 3. Three references with email addresses and phone numbers. Applications will be reviewed as received, on an on-going basis, with a deadline of April 30, 2018.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Outstanding verbal and written communication and presenting skills. High level of maturity; self-awareness of personal and intellectual biases. Predisposition to self-effacement; ability to bracket personal for the sake of greater good in patient care, team, and organizational settings. Intellectual humility; recognition of personal and professional fallibility, and of the potential limitations of ethics expertise and consultants.

Preferred Qualifications:

A PhD in Bioethics, Philosophy or Applied Ethics conferred before the start of the fellowship. Experience in clinical settings. Training in mediation or conflict resolution. Experience and proficiency in facilitation of group discussions over emotionally and morally charged issues. Track record in working with, and fostering the development of, highly effective teams working collaboratively in an atmosphere of trust and respect.
