Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Electrician Certificate with Red Seal from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Required experience with the Fire Alarm and Security System Code, Electrical Code, Alberta Building Code and Safety Regulations, Electronics, Computers, and server support, implementing preventive maintenance schedules, documentation, prepare feasibility, cost estimates, reports, and ordering supplies. Must be thoroughly familiar with tools and equipment used in the trade. Required understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Requires the ability to work independently and effectively in an interdisciplinary setting and maintain high confidentiality, detail-oriented, establish priorities, respond to requests promptly and meet deadlines. Proven reliability and dependability with no physical limitations concerning sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, standing, walking, and working at heights. Demonstrated self-direction, adaptability, and flexibility are required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, responding to changing demands and ability to organize and prioritize workload. Must meet all organizational policy requirements for employment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Journeyperson Electrician position requires to have credential of an Alberta Journeyperson Electrician or a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years Journeyperson Electrician experience. Minimum 2 years’ experience in an active hospital maintenance program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be reliable, cooperative and capable of working independently. Has the ability to work under emergency conditions and in difficult situations. Master Electrician Certificate is an asset. Distribution Experience (Medium Voltage and Low Voltage) an asset. CFAA – Canadian Fire Alarm Association is an asset.
