Completion of recognized post-secondary program in a health or education related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable regulatory body.
Additional Required Qualifications:Proficiency in adult /pediatric education approaches that enhance patient care, health promotion, and self-management. Provide education on topic areas such as asthma disease processes, trigger identification and avoidance, medication management, delivery device review and teaching on optimal use. Chronic cough assessments, and guided self-management that includes individualized respiratory care plans. Perform spirometry and basic interpretation. Demonstrate the ability to perform spirometry with the preliminary assessment of pediatric patients and adults. Ability to creatively problem solve and display excellent clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities. Minimum 5 years clinical experience in a pediatric healthcare setting. Clinical/educational asthma experience with children/families in a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will work in different settings and environments (community sites, outpatient clinics, and altering weather conditions). Be able to lift and carry supply bags, and equipment that weigh approximately 20-25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric community /ambulatory /Outpatient setting. Proficiency MS Office products- Teams/Zoom, electronic medical records including Connect Care, and RightFAX. Familiar with Morgan Scientific Pneumotrac (ComPAS) software. Certified Tobacco Educator (CTE). Smoking cessation counseling. Direct experience in a pulmonary function lab. Experience in providing virtual group education and individual education sessions.
