Your Opportunity:

The incumbent is responsible for providing on-road driving assessment and training in the Driver Evaluation and Training Service (DETS). Services provided with clients across the lifespan (adolescents, adults, geriatrics) living with a variety of medical conditions. Works collaboratively with Occupational Therapy staff to determine recommendations regarding clients' driving abilities and vehicle modifications. Responsible for ensuring program vehicles are maintained in good operating condition. Shares and presents information on the Driver Evaluation and Training Service and safe driving with a disability to a variety of stakeholders and community groups.

Description:

As a Driver Training Instructor, you will provide on-road driving assessment and training in fully adapted vehicle to clients with disabilities. You will work collaboratively with the Occupational Therapy staff to determine recommendations regarding clients¿ driving abilities and vehicle adaptations. You will share and present information on the Driver Evaluation and Training Service and safe driving with a disability to a variety of stakeholders and community groups. In addition, you will ensure program vehicles are maintained in good operating condition.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence and satisfactory driving record. Completion of Driver Instructors Certificate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum three years' experience as a certified Driver Instructor. Must be certified to provide training for Class 5 license in Alberta.
