Description:
The Director, Addiction and Mental Health Services has accountability for delivering strategic leadership over a newly formed significant portfolio. The Director oversees a broad spectrum of mental health and addictions programs and services within 10 Alberta Provincial Correctional facilities across the province. The Director supports the vision, mission and business plans of Recovery Alberta and the execution of addiction and mental health strategic plans as they pertain to the delivery of integrated and recovery-oriented services to provincially incarcerated individuals experiencing mental illness and/or addictions. The Director will work in collaboration with the Director of Health Services and in partnership with the Facilities Medical Director, Addictions and Mental Health, Correctional Health Services and is responsible for ensuring the coordination of robust human and fiscal resources needed to deliver the services in this portfolio. In addition to leading this specific portfolio, the Director is also a strong contributor and support to the senior leadership team overseeing Correctional Health Services provincially.

Masters Degree in a health related discipline or equivalent relevant experience. Registration within applicable professional association. Minimum of 5 years in a mental health, addiction and/or health related, senior leadership role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Demonstrated competency in change management principles. Demonstrated competency in managing a unionized workforce. Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with key stakeholders within healthcare and the community.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in providing clinical service/leadership within a correctional environment and/or justice related program.
