The Dietitian I - Home Care and Supportive Living is a frontline professional position within Nutrition Services reporting to the Manager of Nutrition Services, South Zone. In this position you will be responsible for the nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans for home living, supportive living and adult home enteral clients in the community of Medicine Hat and surrounding areas. This position also provides coverage in the rural community of Brooks for home living/supportive living clients. You will have the opportunity to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team in both facility and community settings in the practice areas you cover.

Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

As Required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years' experience as a dietitian. Experience with home care, supportive living or outpatients. Experience with enteral nutrition. Experience with nutrition counseling for behaviour change. Demonstrated knowledge of virtual health applications for patient care (MS Teams, Zoom, etc).
