Your Opportunity:
This position offers a dietitian experiences with adult and senior psychiatry patients as well as patients receiving rehab services within the brain injury units. The dietitian completes nutrition assessments and formulates nutrition care plans, monitors patient outcomes, communicates with team members, and documents in an appropriate manner. The dietitians play a key role in dysphagia management within the psychiatry units and provide coverage for each other as required. Collaboration with all members of the team, from front line food services staff to physicians is required to ensure appropriate nutrition care is provided.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will demonstrate a Patient First philosophy; be knowledgeable about the nutritional management of individuals with mental health conditions; be knowledgeable about enteral nutrition; be able to support dysphagia management; and have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience working with psychiatry and/or brain injury patients and performing dysphagia assessments are preferred.
