A health-related or policy-related diploma/ degree or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years in policy development or implementation in a health care organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership and project/program management. Strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals and provincial implications. Demonstrated leadership skills, including ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to explain complex issues or difficult situations. Experienced in developing and facilitating presentations to various audiences. (i.e., senior leadership vs front line staff). Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including strong listening, summarizing, facilitating and “bridge building” skills. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Strong, adaptive communication skills utilizing a variety of methods (verbal, written, active listening). Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize workload, and balance competing demands. Evidence of thoroughness, concern for accuracy, and attention to detail in performing tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in a Health Administration or health related field. Formal training on policy development and writing styles. Project management training and/or certification. Training/courses in leadership, conflict resolution, change management and communication. Diagnostic Imaging knowledge. A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
