Your Opportunity:

The CPA Articling Student is a three-year rotational position with work terms in the Finance (Financial Reporting and Treasury) and Internal Audit departments. The CPA Articling Student gains industry experience while working towards obtaining a CPA designation. The CPA Articling Student assists in executing various financial reporting, treasury assignments, and internal audit, while obtaining key competencies required for a CPA designation including, but not limited to, performance measurement and reporting, governance strategy and risk management, management and decision-making, and assurance.

Description:

Key responsibilities include evaluating and identifying key risks of an assignment, analyzing, evaluating and advising on assurance needs, developing or evaluating financial reporting processes to support the financial reporting infrastructure, and preparing and / or reviewing financial statements and accompanying notes. In addition to executing the various financial reporting, treasury and internal audit work assignments, the CPA Articling student is required to: 1. Meet the required prerequisites and is eligible to apply for the CPA Professional Education Program. 2. Complete the CPA Professional Education Program course requirements on a continuous basis. 3. Work towards writing the Common Final Examination within the three-year rotational program. Required Qualifications:

A university degree with a major in Accounting and successful completion of prerequisite requirements for the CPA Professional Education Program. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple priorities. Ability to work within defined deadlines. Ability to function within a collaborative team environment. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Consideration will be given to those candidates with previous work related experience in an accounting based position.
