Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Surplus Management, the Coordinator - Surplus Management is a leadership role that is responsible for surplus equipment management and the warehousing of AHS Emergency Stockpile equipment within CPSM Surplus Equipment Warehouses. The Coordinator is the primary contact for AHS and Affiliate staff and sites in the South Sector and ensures the consistent provision of customer focused Surplus Management services and advice.


The Coordinator - Surplus Management maintains a strong focus on accurate inventory planning and positioning in order to ensure that surplus equipment assets are accurately accounted for, stored in the correct manner, and disposed of through appropriate channels in compliance with AHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator is responsible for: coordination of third party mover / transport requirements, oversight of assigned staff, making decisions on surplus equipment asset disposition options, maintaining all required documentation, and contributing to the collection, reporting, and interpretation of key performance indicator data. This position requires a high level of independent time management and work load prioritization. The Coordinator consults with and escalates issues and problems to the Provincial Manager as required. During periods of unavailability of the Provincial Manager, the Coordinator provides functional supervision to the Edmonton CPSM Surplus Equipment Warehouse staff and manages stakeholder inquiries from AHS and Affiliate staff and sites in the North Sector. For this position travel between CPSM Surplus Management warehouses and to stakeholder sites may be periodically required to attend meetings, to gain clear understanding of an individual site, facility, or Zone requirements for surplus equipment asset management services.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a High School Diploma or recognized formal equivalency. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a supervisory role within a multi-site / unionized staff environment. Demonstrated business acumen. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others. Ability to develop interpersonal relationships and constructively manage conflict. Independent time management and work load prioritization skills. Displays initiative, attention to detail, and tenacity in achieving results. Functional level of proficiency (or higher) with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Demonstrated experience in provision of customer centric services. A combination of education, skills, and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of experience in Supply Chain Management with a focus on capital asset lifecycle management (contracting, procurement, warehousing, and/or disposition functions). Process improvement experience. Working knowledge of commonly used medical surgical equipment and consumable supplies. Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (purchasing, financials, and warehouse management) or other ERP experience. WHMIS, TDG, and forklift operations certifications.
