Your Opportunity:
The primary responsibility of the Service Continuity Coordinator – Medical Affairs is to assess service risks, then establish and maintain plans to ensure physician continuity of service delivery specific to their geographical area, (Edmonton Corridor). Working closely with area Operations teams, the Service Continuity Coordinator will monitor operational issues impacting service delivery, staffing shortages (physician and operational), medical on-call schedules, supply/maintenance issues, and crisis management. The Service Continuity Coordinator will anticipate potential service disruptions and develop tactical plans to mitigate risk to physician service delivery. Reporting to the Manager – Physician Resources, the Service Continuity Coordinator is accountable to support initiatives that enhance the quality and safety of medical service delivery and organizational priorities.
Description:
The Service Continuity Coordinator will work closely with area Operations teams, assessing service risk daily, establishing and maintaining plans to ensure physician continuity of service. They will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of area communities and service needs. They will build strong working relationships with rural site leaders. Responsible for coordination of on call schedules, anticipates service gaps and works with Associate Cooridor Medical Lead (ACML) and other medical leadership as appropriate to secure coverage. Supports the organization of locum coverage as required. Will work with Medical Leadership to develop contigency workforce plans for service disruptions. Develop quality improvement plans within workflows and processes to maximize efficiencies. Supports onboarding and wayfinding for new physicians as required. The Service Continuity Coordinator will also be accountable for leadership and management of complex projects for the area Medical Affairs Team, including planning, implementation and evaluation. They will work with Medical Leadership team to operationalize changes and address risk management issues.

Bachelors degree in health, business or another related field, or related experience in required field.
Additional Required Qualifications:
At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a health care environment. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including comfort with decision-making and exercising sound judgement. Proven skills in leading teams to achieve positive outcomes. Works well independently and as a part of a team. Proven time management skills. Proven project management skills. Proven ability to foster partnerships to achieve organizational outcomes. Demonstrated skills in quality improvement and change management. Strong communications skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience in medical affairs or working closely with physicians. Formal qualifications in change management, project management, quality improvement. Equivalencies of education, experience and skills may be considered.
