The Contract Coordinator is responsible and accountable for directing and leading the development of, and amendments to, Individual Services Agreement for Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP) physicians. AMHSP mission is to improve health by providing outstanding clinical, education, research, and leadership services. The AMSHP is made up of a workforce of ~450 physicians and is accountable for ~$190M in restricted grant funding. This position is the primary resource in the Edmonton Zone for providing expert direction to Zone Medical Leaders, individual physicians, Medical Affairs Director and Department Managers in the area of physician contracts. The Coordinator must have a clear understanding of CMO policy suite and ensure compliance between contractual documents and Physician remuneration policies This role will report to the Manager, AMHSP and will also work closely with the AMHSP Finance Manager(s), Coordinator(s), Physician Resources and other U of A HR contacts as required. The incumbent will be a subject matter expert in the end-to-end process for AMHSP physician contracts as well as support recruitment. Incumbents will regularly use critical thinking skills to identify delays or issues, conduct appropriate investigations and provide recommendations. Incumbents will have a demonstrated proficiency in contract development including: contract risk assessment, researching and developing clinical deliverables, and other key performance indicators. The position will also be responsible for working with the AMHSP Manager, Zone Clinical Department Heads and Section Chiefs to develop communication and implementation plans.

Must be a graduate of a post-secondary institution with a minimum of a degree in business administration or completion of a paralegal studies program. Excellent interpersonal, communication skills. The ability to interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard requests. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to employ initiative and self-sufficiency to work in areas of ambiguity. Understanding of contract preparation and interpretation pertaining to physician remuneration and service delivery. Attention to detail and persistence in fulfilling appropriate aspects of contract development and quality improvement. Proven ability to foster partnerships and cooperation within a large organization in order to achieve goals. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:General awareness of Medical Affairs – AHS. Understanding of the University structure, specifically the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
