Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the unique Edmonton Zone Stroke Program and to coordinate the services provided by the novel Stroke Ambulance. The Stroke Ambulance Coordinator is responsible for the operational leadership, coordination, and continuous quality improvement of the Stroke Ambulance program. This role supports the delivery of rapid, evidence-based prehospital stroke care through collaboration with EMS, emergency departments, stroke neurology, diagnostic imaging, and health system partners. Your experience in leading group facilitation, knowledge translation will be assets, and your clinical background and knowledge of charting systems (Connect Care) will add value to projects requiring chart reviews for quality assurance and data management. The Stroke Ambulance Coordinator plays a critical role in improving access to time-sensitive stroke treatment, reducing treatment delays, and enhancing patient outcomes. This role contributes to system-wide efficiency and innovation in prehospital emergency care. You will report directly to the Program Manager of the Stroke Program Edmonton Zone and will be expected to work with a high degree of independence.

Description:

The Stroke Ambulance is an innovative health service that is transforming how stroke services are provided within and outside of the Edmonton Zone. The stroke ambulance coordinator ensures effective daily operations, supports program expansion, leads education and stakeholder engagement, and drives performance evaluation to optimize patient outcomes and system efficiency. In this role, you will utilize critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as effective communication skills to ensure efficient service delivery. While not in a direct patient care role, you will play a leadership role in supporting care delivery under the Stroke Program. You will demonstrate AHS values in your communication and interactions with stakeholders across the zone and province.
