Patient and Family Centered Care at the Stollery is currently seeking a full-time Coordinator to join our team. The Patient and Family-Centred Care (PFCC) Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a culture of partnership between patients, families, and the organization. This role works closely with Patient and Family Advisors (PFAs) and hospital staff to identify meaningful opportunities to enhance family-centred care at the bedside and within organizational systems. The PFCC Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of PFA engagement, from recruitment and onboarding to training, coordination, and ongoing involvement in PFCC initiatives. With a strong focus on relationship-building, the PFCC Coordinator nurtures active participation, fosters leadership development among PFAs, and ensures advisors are meaningfully integrated into decision-making processes that advance the organization’s PFCC goals.
Description:
The PFCC Coordinator will work closely with Patient Family Advisors (PFAs) as well as hospital staff in a collaborative manner to determine possible ways to improve family centred care practices in bedside care and organizational systems. The coordinator will work with PFAs through all aspects of recruitment, training and participation in advisor activities. The PFCC coordinator will build relationships and nurture PFA involvement and leadership in a range of PFCC initiatives and activities.

Post-secondary education in health sciences, social sciences, community engagement, or a related field; or equivalent experience. Experience working with volunteers, patients/families, or community groups. Experience in healthcare, program coordination, or community engagement.
Additional Required Qualifications:Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident speaking with diverse audiences including patients, families, clinicians, leaders, and community partners. Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities. Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities and timelines. Empathy, cultural humility, and a deep commitment to patient- and family-centred care. Proficiency with standard office software and virtual meeting platforms. Availability to attend one to two evening meetings per month.
Preferred Qualifications:Lived experience in a pediatric tertiary hospital setting. Strong listener with a collaborative mindset. Inclusive, respectful, and supportive. Creative problem-solver. Calm and professional in sensitive or fast-paced situations. Flexibility to support PFCC team as required.
