Your Opportunity:

Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP) mission is to improve health by providing outstanding clinical, education, research, and leadership services. The AMSHP is made up of a workforce of ~450 physicians and is accountable for ~$190M in restricted grant funding. The Contract Coordinator (the Coordinator) is responsible and accountable for supporting the Pediatrics AMHSP physician leadership for project initiatives that need to begin for 2022-2023 budget cycle. The position will also be responsible for Contract Management of Individual Service Agreements (ISAs) for all physician within the arrangement. This includes, developing, coordinating, updating and maintaining all ISAs for the respective programs, be the point of contact for the physicians in these programs, developing and maintaining up-to-date information in CAP database for tracking purposes, etc. as based on the MSA, AH and AHS policies, guidelines, procedures and expected timelines. This position supports the physicians being recruited into the respective AMHSP arrangements. The Zone Clinical Department Head and Zone Section Chiefs rely heavily on this position when a new physician is joining the program. Specifically, the position will draft the ISA, send out / track all the AMHSP onboarding documents, such as but not limited to, coordinating with Physicians Resources team to ensure the physicians’ privileges are active before the physician’s start date, LOO, etc.; coordination with Provincial Billings Office to set up AMHSP shadow billings, coordination with University for UofA appointment letter/LOO and coordination of Med Leadership contract physician signatures. This position is a Non – Union Exempt position.

Required Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of a post-secondary institution with a minimum of a degree in business administration or completion of a paralegal studies program. Excellent interpersonal, communication skills. The ability to interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard requests. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to employ initiative and self-sufficiency to work in areas of ambiguity. Understanding of contract preparation and interpretation pertaining to physician remuneration and service delivery. Attention to detail and persistence in fulfilling appropriate aspects of contract development and quality improvement. Proven ability to foster partnerships and cooperation within a large organization in order to achieve goals. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access etc.). Proven ability for critical thinking skills to identify delays or issues, conduct appropriate investigations and provide recommendations. Ability to demonstrate proficiency in contract development including: contract risk assessment, researching and developing clinical deliverables, and other key performance indicators.

Preferred Qualifications:

General awareness of Medical Affairs – AHS. Understanding of the University structure specifically the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Understanding of CMO policy suite and ensure compliance between contractual documents and Physician remuneration policies would be considered an asset
