Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Physically capable to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and must be able to push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs. This position requires you to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift. Food Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of and experience with computer applications. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a food service or commercial restaurant or healthcare setting is required. All new employees must be able to attend a 2-day Patient Food Service New Employee Orientation followed by an onsite orientation shift. Preferred Qualifications:

Journeyman Cook, Red Seal Certification or equivalent. Min. 1 year of customer service experience. WHMIS training. Experience with food and beverage prep for specialized diets, monitoring waste, auditing, calculating food cost, recipe development and/or catering service (for retail positions), inventory management, receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates, “FIFO”, and commercial food equipment. Cash handling experience (if required). Experience in a hospital or long-term care environment.
