Contract Manager

Working with the Director of CS&P and your peers, the primary role of the Contract Manager is to lead the management of and ensure contract performance related to Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Service Partner’s (SP). The goal of the relationship is to ensure SPs are providing equitable services to that of AHS in a sustainable and fiscally responsible manner. We work collaboratively with clinical dyad partners in EMS Operations and other EMS business areas to ensure contracted EMS services are being delivered within the terms and conditions agreed to by both parties. The portfolios we support are focused on service-based agreements including ground emergency response & interfacility transfer, non-ambulance transport, aviation (fixed and rotary), and air medical crews.
Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for contract management activities such as overseeing agreement compliance, risk mitigation, leading meetings, and contract administration activities. Participate in procurement activities such as drafting of agreements, evaluating financials, developing negotiation strategy, and leading negotiations. Work collaboratively with EMS Operations and business partners such as Business Advisory Services (BAS), Finance Analytics Planning Support (FAPS), and Contract Procurement & Supply Management (CPSM). Represent the Director as needed. Complete and be accountable for other duties as assigned. Participate in our team charter. In addition, the ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate experience and/or competency in the following areas: • Candidates must be able to communicate verbally and write messages in a clear, concise, and compelling manner. • Demonstrated knowledge of data/process analysis, strategy development, and change management process. • A desire to learn and commitment to development. • Proven self-starter that is accountable to peers and desires to be an equal contributor to team. • Ability to interpret financial statements (income statements, cash flow statements, & asset schedules). • Experience using Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat PDF. • Ability to create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. • Proven ability to navigate conflict while also achieving organizational goals. • Proven ability to establish positive relationships and to collaboratively achieve organizational goals.

Candidates must have a valid class 5 driver’s license and be physically able to travel provincially for meetings. Experience and knowledge in the areas of EMS Operations, contract management, request for proposals, negotiations, provincial legislation (E.G. EHSA, TSA, ESC), EMS billing, and Patient Quality and Safety programs. Completion and/or enrollment of post-secondary education such as diploma, undergraduate, graduate in business or related health field and professional certifications. A minimum of two-year experience in an out of scope supervisory/management role.

Preferred Qualifications:
Registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics. 5+ years working in a provincial health system and/or EMS. Business diploma and/or Bachelor of Commerce and/or master's in business administration CPCM, CFCM, CCCM, or CCMA.
