Required Qualifications:

A Baccalaureate Degree in a regulated clinical profession. A minimum of five (5) years health care/clinical experience is required. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development is required. Working knowledge of the health care system is required. Working knowledge of patient safety theory and application is required. Basic level skills and knowledge of quality and process improvement methodologies are required. Must be proficient in working with computer programs such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Upon commencement, the incumbent must take: AHS “Fundamentals of Patient Safety” course, Adverse Event Methodology training and “Disclosure of Unanticipated Medical Outcomes” (DUMO) course.


Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in a health care environment, including 2 years of experience in a management role. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with facilitation, coaching, and teaching. Effective communicator and attentive to details in both written and oral communications. Strong organizational skills, client-focused, and committed to providing high-quality services. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions to complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships to achieve organizational goals, ideally with experience in managing within a unionized sector. Demonstrated commitment to operating effectively in a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short and long term projects and deliver customer-focused results. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with, public agencies, government departments, committees and other partners.


Preferred Qualifications:

Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Project management skills and experience are an asset.
