This role has a high degree of independence to plan, design and develop provincial education and learning tools for a variety of stroke providers as part of the transition to the 24-hour Endovascular Thrombectomy treatment window initiative led by the Neuroscience and Stroke Program Improvement and Integration Network (NS PIN). Using advanced skills in educational design and knowledge translation, the successful candidate will work to support change management in acute stroke care in Alberta, oversee the curation of content and the implementation of a learning framework for each of the impacted areas (Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Departments, and Stroke Programs). Recognized as a high-impact agent of change, the incumbent will be familiar with new and innovative learning models and creative uses of educational technologies. They are also skilled at applying principles in adult learning, design thinking, universal design, user experience design, and systems thinking to create meaningful learning experiences for all stakeholders. Commitment to meaningful engagement with patients and families as true partners in co-design is essential. The duties of this role may include but are not limited to curating content, leading the development of project education strategies, facilitator training, communications, revision of existing education, co-designing new materials, creating digital stories and designing webinars, alignment of provider and patient education materials, strategic planning for sustainability of educational resources and processes for educational opportunities offered in a variety of modes. The position reports to the Senior Program Lead of the NS PIN but will work closely with the project’s Senior Consultant and multiple internal and external partners to develop learning experiences that align with organizational priorities.

Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or education, plus a certificate in Adult Learning, Educational Design, or related area. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. 5–7 years of instructional design and/or educational development experience with increasing responsibility. Strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator preferred. Demonstrated strengths in needs identification, gap analysis, critical thinking, decision-making, and innovative problem-solving. Proven ability to: Seek and evaluate best evidence. Develop and facilitate presentations to convey or transfer knowledge. Communicate, collaborate, and manage projects with diverse stakeholders. Work independently with initiative, and plan and implement strategic education. Build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of best practices in education design, engagement, and social movements. Strong team leadership skills, with comfort in decision-making, coaching, teaching, and the ability to inspire and instill confidence in others. Experience or expertise with VideoScribe.
Additional Required Qualifications:Master’s degree with specialization in educational design, or in a health-related discipline. Training in Instructional design.
Preferred Qualifications:Mastery of instructional technology / design principles and processes in relation to developing face-to- face and online learning. Familiarity and experience with authoring tools (e.g., Captivate, Articulate, Lectora, VideoScribe). Knowledge of healthcare across the continuum. Well-developed project and team management skills.
