Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. nursing, allied health discipline, human factors).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a large and complex health care environment. Demonstrated interest in patient safety. Experience implementing and integrating system-wide initiatives. Strong understanding of health care systems, quality improvement and performance measurement methodology. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate large groups.


Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of continuing education in quality and safety preferred (e.g. QHI Patient Safety Certificate, IHI Open School Quality & Patient Safety Certificate, CPSI Canadian Patient Safety Officer certificate) Experience in conducting safety reviews and developing recommendations an asset. Master’s degree in a health-related or business administration discipline an asset. Project management training an asset.
