A minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred (healthcare experience an asset). A degree/ diploma/ certification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline with an NCSO or CRSP designations is preferred. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: A detailed understanding of legislative requirements, organizational standards, as well as industry best practices as it relates to Construction Safety and Contractor Safety Management, An in depth understanding of theoretical risk management and safety fundamentals, Facilitation/coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Significant experience in problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, and negotiation. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships/partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
If no NCSO, then work must be underway to obtain it within one year. If no CRSP, then work must be underway to obtain it within two years. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience in coaching leaders. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Experience managing physical and human resources and related financial / statistical information. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
