Health Shared Services (HSS) is seeking a compensation professional with strong consulting and advisory skills and an ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with clients in a service-focused environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic HSS Compensation & Job Evaluation team as a Compensation & Job Evaluation Advisor. Our team is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and delivery of the non-union exempt employee Compensation Program. The Compensation Program is delivered to 10 organizations in the health sector. We are a Centre of Expertise (CoE) that provides strategic expertise and specialized compensation and classification services. The Compensation & Job Evaluation team is responsible for building relationships and partnering with our clients, establishing trust and credibility, and ensuring that we are a reliable resource. We approach our work in a client centric, consultative, and business-solution focused manner. We work together as a collaborative and integrated team, enabling our clients to meet their business needs and create an environment for success by providing subject matter expertise in compensation and classification, as well as function as strategic business advisors. As an Advisor on the team you will be engaging daily with various healthcare organizations providing specialized compensation and classification advise to Human Resources Business Partners and organizational leaders. HSS is a Provincial Health Corporation delivering corporate and non-clinical services within the Alberta health sector. As this role is within a provincial team, the location of this position is negotiable within the province. This position can opt to work in a remote, hybrid, or in-office setting.

Description:

The Compensation & Job Evaluation Advisor is responsible for delivering client-facing compensation services, including salary administration and job evaluation. The role provides compensation and classification advice to Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) and organizational leaders through ongoing engagement. The role concurrently develops relationships with its clients, and establishes trust and credibility, through a client centered-approach while ensuring that the Compensation Program deliverables are achieved. As a trusted Advisor, service deliverables are influenced and strategically guided through pro-actively engaging with clients on compensation and classification topics and analyzing client needs, assessing requirements and presenting solutions. As such, developing a deep understanding of the assigned organizations and their priorities is critical to the role in delivering strategic advice consistently. The role further develops and delivers education, communication, tools and resources on the Compensation Program and compensation and job evaluation methodologies, best practices, and concepts. As well provides support to compensation and job evaluation projects and initiatives. The Advisor furthermore ensures that the Compensation Program is administered in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, guidelines, and processes. In addition to remaining current on relevant legislation, compensation trends, changes and advances in the relevant market.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related field with a specialization in Human Resources.


Additional Required Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of professional experience. Experience administering compensation programs and conducting job evaluations. Experience developing compensation and job evaluation policies, processes, protocols and guidelines. Strong consulting, advisory, problem solving, decision making and analytical skills. Client focused and committed to providing quality service. Demonstrated ability to commit to operating within a team environment and build strong relationships with team members. Ability to foster relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
