Completion of an accredited education program, college, or university. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college (i.e. CARNA, CLPNA, ACSLPA, ACP etc). Ability to perform Nasal Pharyngeal and /or Throat swabbing within your professional scope of practice.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability and professional scope of practice to perform nasopharyngeal and throat swabbing and adhere to related standards, guidelines, and codes of ethics. Effective organizational, planning and time management abilities. Establishes and maintains effective liaison with multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated services are provided; must demonstrate working as a team player. Demonstrates ethical practice and professionalism in working with clients, peers, and other health care providers, and the public in a culturally competent manner. Recognizes safety issues and reports appropriately. Demonstrated learning path of continuing competency through ongoing professional development including participation in education programs, research and continuous quality improvement activities. Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability, in addition to the ability to support orientation of new employees, and preceptorship of students, and work across all assessment centre sites. Ability to be self-directed and exercise strong independent clinical judgment. Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to stand, twist, lean, walk and bend for the majority of the shift. The role also requires continued use of personal protective equipment. Must be able to raise arms above head to appropriately don and doff PPE as well as lift equipment and supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:Current BLS-HCP. Experience with testing in a COVID-19 assessment center or fast track, or testing within acute care. Computer literacy and experience with Sharepoint. Cross-cultural competence and experience working with complex, vulnerable populations. Applies principles of family-centred care and client decision making ability. Clinical skill and expertise applicable to program areas.
