Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Psychology or Social Work. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW). A minimum of 5 years' experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: Master's in Psychology, Master's in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization, or Diploma or Bachelor’s in Nursing with a related Master’s including training or considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Master’s preferred. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Minimum of 5 – 6 years of recent experience in addictions and mental health, preferably in a community setting. Strong abilities in working within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated contribution in emerging programs is essential. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) Knowledge and skill in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, brief solution focused therapy or equivalent. Proficient in risk assessment and disclosure and documentation of risk. Excellent verbal and written communication. Advanced knowledge and skill in the areas of evidenced-based assessment and treatment of mental illness and addiction is required. Efficient with LOCUS tool (Level of Care Utilization System) Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset. Demonstrated ability to work well with a range of community and agency stakeholders as well as clients and families.
