Required Qualifications:

Completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in a clinical health care or related field is required (e.g. nursing, allied health discipline, human factors); equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Must be eligible for registration with the appropriate professional association. A minimum of 5 years healthcare/clinical experience is required. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Working knowledge of patient safety theory. Proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office suite, Excel, PowerPoint.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a large and complex environment. Demonstrated interest in patient safety. Leadership skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with facilitation, coaching and teaching. Effective communicator and attentive to details in both written and oral communications. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate large groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a health related or business administration discipline preferred. Project management training an asset. Completion of QHI Patient Safety Certificate or similar program (e.g. IHI Open School, AHS Quality &Patient Safety Certificate, CPSI Canadian Patient Safety Officer certificate). Leadership experience in a health care environment is an asset.
