Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, clinical informatics, research, business, evaluation or healthcare administration or related area. Customer facing experience bridging business, IT, clinical, and clinical support services, across the breadth and depth of a large healthcare organization. A minimum of five years of healthcare experience. A minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible roles in health informatics. Working knowledge of the Alberta Health Services and the CI function. Significant experience in the application of change tools and methodologies. Certifications related to management, leadership, and change management (PROSCI certified). Good working knowledge of clinical services, information technology and AHS systems. Strong leadership skills as characterized by recent and relevant references. Experience with elearning software and authoring tools (i.e. Adobe Captivate, Moodle, Articulate Storyline). Knowledge & experience using learning management systems.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to think systematically and critically, create value or business cases, inform and develop strategy, and engage others in same. Knowledge & experience in adult learning and instructional design. Knowledge & experience with story boarding and electronic learning development. Knowledge & experience with web design. Knowledge of change management principles & tools. Project management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues list, manage project plan, risks and dependencies). This role draws upon theory and practice from many disciplines; understanding of the following is required: Knowledge Management. Information Technology and Management. Process Improvement and Change Management. Clinical Informatics. Safety and Quality.


Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical designation is an asset – e.g. Registered Nurse, other regulated health professional. CPHIMS/CPHIMS-CA certification. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Self-motivated with little supervision.
