Required Qualifications:

Graduate degree in a discipline relevant to clinical ethics and/or professional clinical degree with specialized ethics training. A minimum of three (3) years of experience providing applied health ethics consultative services and health ethics education. Completion of practical clinical ethics training from a fellowship, residency, or practicum program. Experience conducting ethics consultations, providing ethics education, and reviewing and developing policies. Experience and proficiency in the use of systematic methods of reasoning to help analyze value conflicts by developing, weighing, and balancing moral arguments and counterarguments. Knowledge of health ethics literature and fundamentals.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated excellence in developing and fostering interpersonal work relationships to contribute to collaborative and respectful working relationships. Past success in identifying, supporting, and implementing workplace changes that enhance effectiveness and build ethics capacity. Predisposition to self-effacement, ability to bracket personal for the sake of greater good in-patient care, team, and organizational settings. Intellectual humility, recognition of personal and professional fallibility and of the potential limitations of ethics expertise and consultants. Self-awareness and recognition of personal and intellectual biases. Ability to manage and prioritize complex and diverse workloads. Skill and knowledge in techniques of mediation, facilitation, or conflict resolution. Outstanding verbal communication and presenting skills. Exceptional written communication skills.
