High School diploma or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Qualifications:Minimum typing speed of 25 wpm. Medical Terminology. Medical secretary or other related courses. Six months related office experience in a health care setting required. Ability to work accurately and quickly under the stress of a continuous workflow with frequent interruptions, maintaining thorough attention to detail. Maintains confidentiality of all information handled. Ability to organize and prioritize workload. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use tact, discretion, persistence and sound judgement when dealing with inquires. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff and public to maintain a professional image of the Health Records Department.
