Completion of bachelor's degree in Child & Youth Care or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) Healthcare Provider certification required. 3 years previous experience working in a children’s mental health care setting required. Must have proven communication, behavioral management, clinical observation and assessment skills. Must have knowledge of the treatment and medications used to treat children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric illness. Physically able to lift 11 kg, climb 3 flights of stairs, participate in gym activities and escort children into environment restraints or use physical restraints when required. This position works with children and youth who are experiencing significant mental health and/or behavior issues who may demonstrate dysregulation, loud voices, anger and/or anxiety.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification with the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta preferred. Child and Youth Development, mental health courses preferred. NCVI Certification preferred. Driver’s license preferred.
