Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Child Life, Education, Psychology or other related field.

Additional Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with Child Life focus, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Child Psychology and other related coursework within the field is mandatory. Child Development certificate (2 year diploma) and or a Child Life certificate (1 year diploma) an asset. Certification with the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) is required within one year of acceptance and must be eligible for certification at time of acceptance. Two (2) years related experience in Child Life necessary. Ability to be resourceful, creative, adaptive and flexible, with strong problem-solving skills is essential. Must have a valid BCLS- HCP CPR certification Professional membership: Association of Child Life Professionals. Candidate is responsible to provide proof of active registration with the ACLP and maintain registration throughout the duration of employment. Experience running group programs, providing psychosocial preparation for procedures and medical interventions and availability to work evenings, weekends and varied shifts is required for this position.
