Required Qualifications:

A minimum of eligibility for medical, dental or podiatric licensure in Alberta, including certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Royal College of Dentists of Canada or an equivalent professional body. Eligibility to be a member of the Recovery Alberta Medical Staff. At least ten (10) years’ leadership experience in health care operations including three (3) years’ experience in senior leadership roles in clinical services or healthcare operations.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The new Chief Medical Officer will have demonstrated leadership abilities, including comfort with decision-making and exercising sound judgement. Additionally, the CMO is experienced in leading, supporting and assisting in development of medical leaders and experience leading Quality & Healthcare Improvement programs or initiatives. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability to develop organization strategy and planning, as well as the ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage change to achieve positive results, modelling innovation and creativity. The successful candidate has proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including interpersonal and public relations skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and mediate resolutions to complex situations. Can effectively manage relationships, with the proven ability to foster partnerships to achieve organizational goals. Additionally, you will have a proven record of engaging in ethical conduct.


Preferred Qualifications:

Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) credential preferred.
