Description:

The Care Manager is a key leadership role in the Rural Health portfolio reporting directly to the Site Manager Canmore Hospital. This position is responsible and accountable for providing direction, leadership and organization over the activities of various clinical departments which include Long Term Care (nursing and recreation therapy) and support services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities also will include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of quality care for long term care residents and families. The positions is also responsible for maintaining standards of care related to the Continuing Care Health Standards. The Care Manager is also key in the provision of a collaborative work environment to support staff to do their best.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline required, Masters Degree preferred. Professional license in health-related field. A minimum of 3 years in a health-related supervisory role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in long term care and working with dementia care is an asset. Previous experience working in a rural, generalist healthcare provider role is an asset.
